Mike Ator
November 1
2024
Age 54, Houston
I do not yet have a more "formal" obituary, I need to add
more about his
counseling work at The Montrose Center. But I will start this page
with this.
So sad to hear
that Mike Ator passed away on November 1, I've little info yet, but
wanted
to help get the word out. He gave a Lot to the community with his
work at the Montrose
Center, and I loved playing his music on my radio show. He was a bit
shy about that.
In May 2011 I arranged for him to open for Tom Goss at a Houston show.
He did great,
always wish he would have promoted his music more.

Below, in 2011
one of my singer friends, Tom Goss, was coming to Houston for a show
at The Artery.
He asked if I knew of a opening act for him, and I right away thought
of Mike, and it happened.
I have been playing Mike on my Queer Music Heritage radio show for
several years, but knew he was
shy about promoting his work. He did great,
always wished he would have promoted his music more.
I am supposing
that there were discs for Stay and the Mike Ator graphic
You can hear all the
