Ronald Huckaby
June 25 1992
Age 34, Houston,
Vidor

There's
a bit more.....quite a bit....
Around 1986
he adopted a black child, whose mother was intending to have an abortion.
This
reel tells part of the story and More
in this Video
Her name is Lacy Tezino, and there's a fascinating story.
In the reel, she say her adoptive dad, Ronnie, owned a gay bar called
Michael's,
which was next door to a lesbian bar, Michelle's. I cannot verify
either of those points.
The Houston bar Michael's Outpost, was founded in 1989 by Michael
Gaitz, a lawyer and
prominent community member. So, this perhaps was an earlier bar by
the same name?
When Lacey was very young Ronnie got sick (cancer) and as a result
lost his right arm.
He sick later to the point that he had to move back to Vidor to live
with his parents,
Lacey was about 6 when he died, and was raised White.
Despite the obstacles she had a loving upbringing and was popular
in high school.
(Vidor was a Very racist town).
Now she has a growing, Passport Journeys, to support mother-daughter
relationships,
and has been doing the podcast/talk show circuit. She is very impressive.
