Additional Information
We believe Mark was cremated, so there is no burial place.
Mark had a different partner when he died, Tiamat Legion Medusa,
formerly known as Rick Hernandez, and the child in the photo is
Rick's son, Marcos Hernandez.
For more trivia, Tiamat, per his FB page, bills himself as
"Model, Actress, Artist, Performer, World's most modified transsexual.
Legion the Reptilian on IG."
Mark went to Loyola University, Chicago, and his thesis was
from 1970 and can be downloaded at this link.
This Chicago connection likely explains why an obit for
Cecil was put in the Chicago Tribune.

As they say, This Just In.... (January 2025)

My research into Mark was kick-started by communication from his cousin,
Anna Bilyeu. And we exchanged over 30 emails and on her side she and
her sister Lisa Appleman were able to do additional research.
They were the great nieces of Mark.

Lisa published a beautiful and loving obituary for Mark Phillips
at this link, and from it I am showing the following photos,
showing him circa 1960s/1970s, and with Cecil Cade in 1967.

Below, Mark and a later partner Rick Hernandez co-parented Rick's son,
Marcos, with the boy's mother. Marcos arranged for Mark's
cremation, in 2009.
